It is a non-ablative, non-surgical skin-tightening procedure. The deeper parts of the skin are treated without removing the top layer of skin, creating controlled injury underneath the skin's surface, thereby stimulating the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers.

The number of treatments depends on the size and severity of the condition, but the average is about five, with one treatment every 2-4 weeks. Patients with brown or pigmented skin will notice a significant change after two treatments. Patients with reds or flushing will notice a significant change after 3-4 treatments. The final 2-3 treatments will continue to improve the colour, texture and pore size of the skin.
